This Epic was a gift from the North East sales representative, Victor Lucatorto and I owe him a million thanks for introducing me to this Dominican dame that is a bit stronger than her sisters, Maduro Reserva and Habano, but is just as flavorful, if not more.
Epic is a fairly new boutique brand that is quickly making quite a name for itself, and the passion behind these cigars could not be more evident with its flawless construction, striking appearance and savory flavor profile.
This Latina is produced at the Charles Fairmorn factory on the Dominican Republic, which is most famous for its Kristoff brand. When Epic was handed off to me she was dressed in a stunning Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper leaf that was reddish brown in color and bathed in natural oils. Her surname, Epic, was tattooed across her bosom proudly paying homage to her origin. Her rich, succulent wrapper envelopes a Dominican Olor binder and all-Dominican fillers, Piloto Cubano, Seco and Ligero. This double corona stands proudly at 6 x 54 with sexy little veins and near invisible seams. Her flawless body is firm with just the right amount of ‘give’ when given the ol’ squeeze test. Her wrapper emitted an intoxicating perfume of rich cocoa.
After I was finally done groping her, I whipped out my cutter, gently snipped her cap and massaged her foot with soft butane. Our first kiss opened with an earthy invasion that I found blissful. She quickly added oak and leather to the fusion before mixing in some espresso notes. As we continued our embrace, I reveled in a moment of intimacy that was tender, sweet, and attitude free. My gorgeous Dominican mistress surprised me with that dainty opening, for didn’t offer any spice notes at all and was relatively mild – medium in strength. Mmmmmmm, a coy paramore born to satisfy her man.
She has a very satisfying finish that held strong on my palate between smooches. Despite the Dominican Ligero filler, I sense that this little temptress is going to maintain a medium-strength profile and not become an overpowering annoyance that some Ligeros like to be. This Corojo Reserva is producing a nice even char line with a long, tight, dark charcoal ash. Her smoke output is also impressive.
Into the second third we go. I poured myself another dram of Templeton Rye whiskey and continued to work my way down her irresistible body. I now tasted a lot more sweetness on her breath. It is a delicious syrupy sweetness, perhaps molasses that has now morphed from a trace during the first third to a dominant frontrunner here in the second third. Oak and leather remain prominent with cocoa and coffee now entering the dance. The nutty finish continues to blanket my palate. This Corojo Reserva is certainly smooth and well balanced – a very enjoyable late-night companion.
Her construction is as close to perfect as one can get. Her draw is ideal and her creamy smoke tumbled from my lips in a passion of communication as though we were meant to be. Billowing plumes of thick white smoke filled my cigar cave with a mouthwatering aroma that thick and palpable. Her slow burn allowed me to exploit her essence that much longer.
Our night cap was incredible. Her burn line remained razor sharp and her flavors remained relatively satisfying. However, her kisses started to taste sweeter and more succulent, if that was even possible. Her strength remained at medium-bodied just as I expected and her flavors left me yearning for more.
Overall, I really enjoyed this evening alone with Epic Corojo Reserva. She bedazzled the pants off me for sure and I am looking forward to a date with her sister, Habano. The exotic coupling of her oily Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper and Dominican Olor binder definitely enhanced her decadence. Despite her surprising lack of strength, I can’t say enough about how tasty she was. This is definitely a cigar that deserves a spot in every man’s humidor. She maintained her flavors, aroma and burn line beautifully and her elevating sweetness really intrigued me throughout our entire rendezvous. It is important to captivate a man’s interest from start to finish and Epic Corojo Reserva does just that.
