July 13, 2015 (Berkeley Heights, NJ) – Bill Agathis, owner of Berkeley Humidor and Adelphia Lounge starts his own cigar company, Adelphia Cigar Company, and announces the release of its debut cigar eponymously named, Adelphia.
Adelphia will be made at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona Factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The cigars will be presented in classic boxes of 20, 20ct. bundles, five packs or singles. They are available in one vitola, box-pressed Toro (6 × 52).
Berkeley Humidor and Adelphia Lounge owner, Bill Agathis, worked tirelessly with Erik Espinosa to produce a unique cigar that pays homage to Agathis’ Greek heritage.
“I wanted to come up with something very special for the shop. I really like the cigars coming out of La Zona right now and thought to myself ‘there would be no one better than Erik Espinosa to make my house blend.’ I really love the final product,” said Agathis. “I wanted the band to be something special. I wanted the design to pay homage to my Greek heritage. At the same time I wanted it to stand out in people’s minds. I used Zeus and the blue Greek diner coffee cups that are famous in the New York/New Jersey area as my inspiration for the band. I think the end result is quite impressive.”
Agathis described Adelphia, which is a Nicaraguan Puro, as a medium-bodied, medium-strength cigar. It uses a dark Habano Oscuro wrapper from Nicaragua and a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.
Master Blender Hector Alonso, Sr. of La Zona Factory was instrumental in fine tweaking the blend to make it the noteworthy cigar it is today.
The Adelphia cigar is available now at Berkeley Humidor, BerkeleyHumidor.com/Adelphia and all three Adelphia lounge locations:
